EARLY INTERVENTION PROGRAM

EARLY INTERVENTION PROGRAM

Early intervention is the term used to describe the services and supports that are available to toddlers and young children with developmental delays and disabilities. Early intervention ideally follows early identification of developmental problems. When developmental problems are identified, a comprehensive assessment and diagnosis must be carried out. It must examine the functional abilities, developmental diagnoses, health conditions and other factors likely to influence future outcomes and well-being. Identifying these factors enables parents and professionals to better match the intervention and support to the child and family’s needs.

Early intervention at QISH Wakrah focus on helping toddlers and young children to learn basic skills that typically develop during the first four years of life , such as physical , cognitive , communication , social/emotional and self-help skills.
